Crochet Bows!

Hey everyone! (:
Just popping in to share crochet bow brooches that I made today.

They're so addictive! (:
The pattern is so easy too.

I started with 22 chains, and then half double crochet into 3rd chain from the hook.
And I just used half double crochet throughout and did total of 8 rows of half double crochet.
After that I weaved in ends and simply wrapped yarns in the centre and you just made a bow!

More photos here!
I know the photos aren't perfect, cos I took it with my phone at night under my room's lights *gasps*
I hope you don't mind it so much.

There you go! (:
I know it's a longgg weekends in most countries, so I hope you will have a good one!
I probably will spend mine working on school project (not fun..), crocheting and reading with M.

Oh yes, I started using INSTAGRAM and if you're on it too, you can follow me @khinsboutique.
I think it is rather fun, but I really don't want to get addicted to it...Mitch wouldn't stop teasing me for using Instagram and I'm glad he's over it, at least for now :P

That's all from me for tonight. I think I'm gonna go curl up with Mistborn - a really great book that I'm currently reading.

Good night.

Tiny Crochet Rose Brooches

Hey there! (:
How was your weekends?
I can't believe tomorrow gonna be Monday and I've got classes from 10 till 6....yikes!

But, I'm so glad I did some crocheting over the weekends and yes, I think I did do quite a lot of studying for my uni. I mean, I didn't stay up till 3 am studying like most do, but I don't want to spend my days like that. But I'm still pretty proud with what I've done so far.

Anyway, I don't think you want to hear me talk about boring things like school *winks*, so here is the fun part! :D

Crocheted Roses!

I love the colors! (: I used embroidery threads for all of them. The threads are made of mercerized cotton, which make them a little bit shiny, like silk.

I told you they are tiny! (: Well, the roses are about 3.5 cm in diameter and I think it is a perfect size to wear it on blouses.

I used 0.95 mm crochet hook to make them. If you don't know how tiny the hook is, here is the pic for you.

The tip is pretty small, and of course, sharp, but it makes pretty roses, so I put up with it. :D
I enjoy making the roses a lot! But making the tiny leaves and sewing on the brooch pins on the back is, well...not so fun..

For the leaves, they are 1.5 to 2 cm in length and I have to weave in 2 loose ends. And weaving in ends is really painstaking, especially for small crochet things..If you have little threads coming out, it looks so untidy and you have to hide them neatly.

And sewing the brooch pin on the back means poking a small needle through pretty tightly crocheted roses. So, the needle won't go through easily and then, well..I've broken a few needles already..hehehe..In fact, I've gone through half a pack of 16 needles. But I might have lost some along the way, so you really should be looking where you sit if you were ever in my room..

It was still tons of fun making them thou! And I know it's worth it after seeing them all come together on my brooch pin cards..

Ta Daaa~!

Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you'll have a great Monday (if there is such thing...)

Till next time! (:

Earrings Cards DIY

Last night, I was up until about 2 am, busy printing my earring cards.
I designed them, with the help of Mitch and suggestions from my friends. Thanks so much for all the help, guys. (:
It was so much fun designing them. I had about 10 different floral cards but this one gotta be my favourite!

I especially love the font that I used, Scriptina. The most gruesome part of designing was picking out one perfect front from so many beautiful ones. I'm so glad I've made up my mind about it and done deciding on the design.

Since I'm on the subject of packaging, I thought I'd share with you the packaging that I did for my previous orders on my Etsy Shop.

I made those little bags out of tracing papers. I love how they are partly transparent (duh...) and they don't get crumpled easily.

So, how do you package your items?
Do you source them from others or do you design and make them all yourself?
You can leave your links to your packaging blog posts in the comment section cos I'd love to check them out. (:
Have a great weekends!

Beautiful Stones and Swarovski Earrings

G'day to all of Khin's fans, Mitch here!

In case you don't know me, I'm Khin's fiancé (the one on the left in Khin's about page). I read this blog along with all of you, and love seeing all the wonderful crochet and jewelleries Khin makes. Today I'm updating for her as a surprise, and showing you all the wonderful photos and new items she has made.

Aren't they so nicely made? The mixed stone/crystal ones are my favourites, along with the blue Swarovski crystal one (sadly it doesn't match up well with the blue stone to make a mixed one). Khin's selling all of these at her Etsy shop except the orange ones which I'm sure will be there soon. Which is your favourite?

Thanks for reading this update, and a bigger thanks to everyone that keeps reading my brilliant fiancée's blog!
